A fairy good night

In a meadow fairies meet
gathering nectar, honey and sweets
sun dips low and soon is gone
quiet laughter, talk and song
moon comes up beyond the trees
that dance and sway with every breeze
lights flash on around the glen
it's time for dancing to begin
music blends with herbal scents
colored lights from lantern tints
dancers swirling in and out
joyful laughter, squeals and shouts
brownies, gnomes and elfin maids
gather where the feast is laid
laughter mixes with the songs
toasts of days already gone
eyelids droop, dancers sway
moon is almost gone away
parties end and all are gone
back to where they all belong
but soon another moon will rise
and open, mischievous fairy eyes.
